【Lecture】12/19(Tue.) Estimating the health effects of interventions in a target population: a causal inference

Dear all,

We are delighted to host an EPM lunch talk on December 19 featuring Dr. Yu-Han Chiu, who will deliver a talk on Estimating the health effects of interventions in a target population: a causal inference approach.

Dr. Chiu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Penn State College of Medicine. Before joining Penn State, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the CAUSALab (“causal lab”) at Harvard School of Public Health. She received an MD from the National Taiwan University and a Sc.D. from the Departments of Nutrition and Epidemiology at Harvard. Her research focuses on developing and applying causal inference methods to inform decisions. These include emulating target trials to study treatment and dietary strategies for pregnancy and cardiovascular health; and methods for extending inference from randomized trials to a target population of interest.

Please join us for a lively session on causal inference!
